Rhododendron originally lived at high altitude, mostly in the hillside of the forest or shrub distribution growth, produced in Southwest China.
(1) temperature: Rhododendron likes cool climate, hot and dry is not conducive to the growth of Rhododendron. The best temperature is 15 to 20 ℃.
(2) soil: the soil shall be loose, fertile and moist, with pH between 5.5 and 6.5. The thick cohesive soil is not suitable for its growth.
(3) sunshine: Rhododendron is not resistant to the sun, but it needs a certain amount of sunshine. Pay attention to shade in summer and autumn, and ensure sufficient sunshine in spring and winter.
(1) basin soil: use fertile and soft soil rich in nutrients to control pH and keep the basin soil acid;
(2) before flowering in spring and autumn, phosphate fertilizer can be added once a month, which can make the flower bud grow better and prepare for the flowering period.
(3) summer and winter are dormancy periods. Pay attention to control the amount of fertilizer supply and watering to prevent root rot due to excessive fertilizer and water.
(4) in dry areas, dew and azalea should be watered and sprayed in time. When water is added, iron solution or vinegar can be added to the water. It is helpful to improve soil quality and flower quality.
Picking the heart of azalea can speed up the blooming of flowers. But the extra branches should be cut off in time to avoid affecting the growth of flowers and the shape and price of flowers. Cut off redundant and poorly shaped branches in time to avoid excessive waste of nutrients.
Cooling and warming the Rhododendron can delay or advance the flowering period. It can be moved to indoor cultivation and temperature control, and often sprinkled with water. Keeping the relative humidity above 80% can make its flowering earlier. Put Rhododendron with flower bud in 2 ~ 4 ℃ low temperature to delay watering when flowering pot is dry, and put it outside for two weeks to bloom.
(1) leaf swelling: spray 1:1:200 Bordeaux solution and remove the diseased leaves in time. After the onset of the disease, spray 500 times solution of mancozeb once every seven days.
(2) root rot: the disease is caused by Streptomyces, which lives in the soil and can infect plants for several years. The diseased plant should be soaked or washed with 0.1% potassium permanganate solution, washed with tap water, and then planted in a pot. Put the plant in a well ventilated and sunny place and apply more potassium.
