There are three propagation methods of peach blossom, namely, sowing propagation, cutting propagation and grafting propagation. Each of the three methods has its own advantages and disadvantages, but grafting is usually the main way.Grafting can retain the characteristics of the original plant, while the growth cycle is shorter, compared with sowing and cutting, it can develop faster to blossom and fruit.Sowing and cutting are usually suitable for large-scale propagation, and it takes a long time to blossom and bear fruit.
1. Sowing: The fruiting period of peach blossoms is usually from June to August. At this time, the fruits are picked, and the seeds are kept after the pulp is removed. The time of sowing is usually in spring or autumn, and the emergence rate of autumn sowing is high, and the growth is very rapid. Before sowing, the seeds should be soaked for 5-7 days, which can have the effect of germination.Prepare the seedbed and bury the seeds in it.
2. Cutting: Peach blossom cutting is divided into hard branch cutting and soft branch cutting. Hard branch cutting is mostly carried out in spring. Cutting a cutting of 20 cm long and soaking the bottom with carbendazim and indolebutyric acid can prevent pathogens and promote rooting. The soft branch cutting is carried out in the plum rain season, and about two thirds of the branches are inserted.
3. Grafting: Peach blossom grafting is mostly used for mountain peach, and branch grafting and bud grafting are common.Branch grafting should be carried out in March, after cutting the branch, the bottom is cut into a bevel, and inserted into the incision of the rootstock.Bud grafting is mostly carried out in July and August, the plump axillary buds are cut off with the bark, cut into a shield shape, and inserted into the T-shaped incision of the rootstock.
